An excellent and very rare Ewe cloth with squares woven in bright red and saffron yellow broken with bands of blue stripes. A notably early cloth comparable to an example in the British Museum Coll. <\/p>\n

No. Af1954,01.1 collected in Dahomey c. 1865, the earliest datable cloth in a UK public collection.<\/p>\n

Can be conservation mounted on board.<\/p>\n
