Modelled by:
\nJohann Friedrich Eberlein (1695 – 1749)
\nHe was sculptor at Meissen manufactory as from the year 1735. Eberlein worked together with Johann Joachim Kändler (1706 – 1775) who has been active on behalf of Meissen manufactory since the year 1731: Both sculptors created together with Johann Gottlieb Ehder the most famous Swan Service, consisting of more than 2200 pieces (1737 – 1742). Most of Eberlein’s own models show antique gods on Rocaille bases.
\nThe model 155 was created in year 1740.<\/p>\n

Subject:
\nWife of Tailor rides on goat \/ the woman is busy with her baby-child’s breast-feeding. Simultaneously with this scene, the goat feeds its child, too: A baby goat is sucking mother’s udders while it sinks down on its knees. – The figurine group is attached to flat base decorated with flowers’ blossoms and leaves.
\nPlease note:
\nModel 155 is counterpart to model 171 which is Tailor on Goat, once having been designed by Johann Joachim Kaendler (1706-1775) in year 1740, too.
