This beautiful silver plateau, oval in form, has finely cast and hand-chased classical scenes running round the border, incorporating lions entwined with grape vines and Bacchanalian masks. The central section is pierced openwork allowing the dark interior to be seen through it, to provide a striking finish. The plateau is mounted on four gilded feet with wonderfully detailed heraldic griffons each holding a shield engraved with family crest of an eagle.
This amazing piece is designed to hold a centrepiece or bowl.
