Decoration : Cover with a berlin woolwork floral mosaic within keylines bordered by vandyke triangles lined with keylines. The side panels of the cover with two chain like geometric bands. The side panels of the main body with a berlin woolwork band within keylines. Stickware escutcheon. Original silk lining.

Condition : Very good – a few scattered tesserae losses which do not detract from the overall aesthetic, a little wear and tear to the silk lining. Working lock and key.

We have seen this style of van dyke triangle on Henry Hollamby designs, and this chain like banding on Edmund Nye, in all likelihood this piece was designed by one of those two outstanding manufacturers.
