A particularly good and unusual cut glass biscuit box which would equally make a wonderful ice bucket or pail.
Earlier than most of this type, it dates to around 1860, mid-Victorian in era. The glass is beautifully hand-cut to emulate a coopered barrel with silver plated lid and swing handle. The shape too is unusual with a taller more elongated design; most appealing.
Excellent condition measuring approximately 5″ max in diameter x 8″ tall to lid finial.
