A set of four small ceramic plates / saucers, reclaimed from a mid-19th shipwreck off the coast of Indonesia.
Defying time and the elements, these plates were preserved at the bottom of the sea until the late 1980s, when they were found, brought to the surface and restored. The rustic earthenware still preserves its original glaze, with hand-painted chrysanthemums.
No two are exactly alike in size and craft, which makes the set a singular item.
