Very detailed “hand-incised” (carved) and hand-painted trunk / chest featuring Manchurian cranes gracefully soaring in the sunny sky with a solitary swirling cloud above. The gnarly branches of a sprawling pine tree offer a serene resting place for the cranes after their journey. A colorful flowering vine adds interest, color and charm to this setting. The top opens to reveal an inner cubby for storage, and the feet are a Ming step-down style. Brass handles are present on the sides and a round lock is present on the front.
