This English inlaid bookcase has an eight pane astragal door which is banded with satinwood and ebony inlay. It has the original working lock and key. The cornice has a broken arch pediment inlaid with floral arabesques with a small beaded brass finial in the center platform. The frieze has a center panel inlaid with interlaced floral garlands framed by satinwood banding. The top on the lower section has satinwood cross banding and is inlaid with quarter fans and engraved repeating vines. There is some restoration to this surface due to shrinkage. The upper drawer of the lower section has inlaid and engraved interlaced floral leaves and vines. The cupboard doors are inlaid and engraved with musical themes and engraved quarter fans. The lower drawer is cross banded with satinwood and inlaid with floral engraved arabesques. It has the original brass ring pull with cast classical urn design. The legs are inlaid with etched satinwood ribbon and bell flowers, and have double molded edges.
