Victorian Classical sterling silver water pitcher. Made by Elkington & Co. in Birmingham in 1876. Globular bowl with straight, gently tapering neck and small lip spout. Cast gadrooned handle draped with beading and terminating in female mask in imbricated leaf surround. Beaded and chevron borders. Two droopy-eared and saggy-jowled bulldogs on bowl. Gilt-washed interior. Fully marked. Weight: 23 troy ounces.
