The legs are adorned on the lower half by a leaf stalk with a curled tip above lanceolate cup feet, separated by a rectangular joint with a floret. A curvaceous molding of imbricated quatrefoils connects both feet. In the center is pot au feu finial draped in olive leaf swag above an acanthus noix. Directly beneath the marble top is a highly detailed apron of interlaced Vitruvian waves under a crinkled ribbon bow. Two large floret rectangles interrupt the carvings, segmenting the apron into three sections. A row of beading abuts the bottom, above a continuous floral garland with a central wreath.
Our giltwood console with Flandres Rouge marble top is a lovely example of a Louis XVI style furnishing. The console can be installed wherever an elegant table is needed and space is at a premium, such as a hallway, living room, or bathroom.
