Vintage Design
This table lamp with its distinctive silhouette is model 6767 from the German firm Kaiser Idell (Kaiser Leuchten). With its formal sobriety, it is a luminaire at the crossroads between the functionalist industrial rigour of the Bauhaus movement and the liberating creative energy of the midcentury. The very classical shape of the lamp is enhanced by the use of gold or soft green lacquered metal parts. The lamp is beautifully sized and has a real presence, full of elegance and restraint.
The Dell lamp is an old one, produced in the early 1950s. The paint has a patina in places and traces of use are visible. Discreet oxidation stains are visible on the base. It is in good condition, the electricity is perfectly functional.
46cm diameter for the lampshade, 43cm height.
