Large French cake stand dated 1871. Object for antique dealers and collectors, with Alph stamp on the base. Giroux Paris (see photo) referable to Alphonse Giroux (1776-1848) and signature on the plate Baujault 1871 (see photo) referable to the sculptor Jean-Baptiste Baujault (1828-1899). Stand in bronze, brass and chiselled and gilded metal with head of Bacchus holding plate and base in red marble with a small chip (see photo). In the center of the plate is represented the head of a mythological figure, a profile of a faun with ram’s horns (see photo). Antique object of great quality, finished from the center, of a nice size and pleasant decor. Stand in good condition and beautiful patina.
