Ashly Fine Rugs presents a Late 19th Century Antique Persian Sultanabad 15’9″x19′ Tan, Blue, and Rust Handmade Oversized Area Rug. Persian Sultanabads are perhaps the most desired rugs by both connoisseurs and interior designers. Made with all vegetable-dyed, handspun wool and entirely handwoven. This rug is in immaculate condition with roughly a 1/4in pile and very vibrant colors despite its age. The rug is very large and was custom made and woven In Iran (Persia) in the late 1860s with local wools. This is a great example of important and collectible woven works of art and definitely an investment piece. This is the original size and was never reduced or cut, but it does have some repairs done by master antique carpet repairmen in Persia. Nonetheless, this piece would go great in a living room, dining room, bedroom, or wherever its antique elegance is desired.
