This unusual large pendant was designed and manufactured in germany during the bauhaus period in the 1920s to 1930s. It features a large dark cream / sand colored opaline glass lampshade with brown marbled decor, bronzed / burnished metal hardware and dark brown silk tassel. The length of the drop is customizable. Measurements: lampshade: diameter 15.8″ (40 cm), height without hardware and tassel 6.3″ (16 cm). Length of drop with canopy: 21″ (52 cm). The light requires one e26/e27 bulb (led recommended). It has been converted to us standard. We are unable to confirm that any electrical item meets ul-listing standards at our facility.

Antique alabaster hanging lamp in Art Deco style, circa 1950s.
A single piece of alabaster, beautifully worked with hues and reflections of other colours when lit, suspended from three fabric ropes.
The stone is original vintage, perfect vintage condition, the three ropes have been replaced.
The light that shines through the alabaster is warm and suggestive and exudes a beautiful atmosphere both when lit and unlit. Suitable for an entrance hall or a bedroom. The lamp mounts an E27 socket, European standard, possibility of wiring for USa.
Dimensions: height: 85 cm, diameter: 25 cm, height without cords approx. 14, can be shortened.
In excellent vintage condition, it has some stains typical of alabaster workmanship.

Handblown Mosque glass oil lamp in Mameluke style gilded with Arabic Cursive Calligraphy Middle Eastern Mosque lamp in the Islamic tradition, Moorish style etched blown clear glass with gilded calligraphic inscriptions. Dimensions: 35 cm high and25 cm diameter These were used as oil lamps. Large round bulbous body rising to a narrower waist, above which the top section is flared. There is no foot so it can be placed on a surface, but they were normally used suspended by chains that went through the three loops on the outside of the body. They were used to light middle eastern mosques and other buildings in mosque complexes, in large spaces in groups hanging from a circular metal frame. Glass mosque lamps with were mainly made during the Mamluk period in Egypt,Sirya. They were made on commission and were presented by Mamluk sultans as gifts to Cairo mosques. The lamp was made by blowing hot glass into shape and then leaving it to cool. The gilding were then painted on. The blown glass would have been decorated with gilt using fine brushes. This fabulous item could be used as a vase or decorative item in any modern or Moorish style decor.
