English Oak Jacobean style court cupboard has double peg construction and the original steel strap hinges and locking latches.There are six carved panels on the front and sides depicting bust surrounded by stylized birds and arabesques. The drawers and panel are separated by vertical panels carved in high relief with leaf and berry designs. There is exposed rose head nail construction on the top and bottom platform bases.

Antique Cupboard from Ireland Great Patina Unrestored Original Paint, C1800’s

The Antique Cupboard that was removed from a home we believe may have been in Scotland. The Antique Cabinet, or Cupboard was located in Ireland, but upon cleaning out the Antique Painted Cupboard, we found receipts from the Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland dated 1967. Certainly not definitive, however, the cabinet is absolutely from the British Isles and more than that, is the fact that no one has attempted to restore, or worse yet, refinish the cupboard. The Patina of Old Original Paint is quite impressive and I only wish we could duplicate it. This Painted Antique Cupboard was probably used in a Country Kitchen, for there was evidence of hooks for hanging your tea cups. You’d have to look far and wide to find a more appealing and absolutely stone Original Antique Painted Kitchen Cupboard than this one.

The is a deceptively heavy piece, it is made in solid hardwood and has some original metal fittings, it comes from the south of France
The cabinet stands on a small plinth, the back sides top and shelf are all in solid hard wood

English Oak Carved Stepback Cupboard

The doors in the upper section of this cupboard have applied carved moldings and panels. The lower doors have carved foliate cartouches framed by shaped moldings. The drawer fronts have repeating carved half-rosettes. The bottom section has fluted columns that terminate in a wide base molding and bun feet. The top section has two adjustable shelves. The bottom section is open but has one shelf support to add a shelf if desired. The hardware is later. The sides each have three recessed panels. There are some shrinkage separations in the sides and the stepback.

English Pine Cupboard

This very unusual English pine cupboard is one of a kind. There is a lift top compartment that is 3 1/2” deep and has its original working lock and key. It has bull nosed moldings on the top section. The top and bottom doors have arched recessed panels framed with molded beading. The top section is supported by two mahogany turned columns, while the top two doors open to reveal four fitted drawers. The rosewood knobs are original. The center reeded panel is actually a working 4 1/2” deep drawer. The lower part of the cabinet has one shelf.
