A fully original 19th Century Victorian Scottish Carron of Falkirk arched cast iron fireplace insert. A generous outer plate painted with heat proof black paint then graphite pasted. A highlighted and polished raised arched band displaying attractive Scottish blue bells, centred by a curved three bar fire front and ash pan door. Above the original vented damper plate, grate bars and fire stone.
The Carron foundry produced some of the best cast iron products in Victorian times, from post office letter box’s, to the essential street lamp-all the way up to the gates of Holyrood palace. It’s becoming harder to source fully original pieces like this.
We have many original fireplace surrounds that would compliment this piece.
Reg stamp to rear displays a date of 1870.
