A good antique Imperial Chinese Qing dynasty, Guangxu period yellow glazed and incised decorated dragon bowl, mark & period, circa 1875.
The bowl covered with an ‘egg yolk’ yellow glaze & incised decoration to both the exterior & interior, around the bowl there are two five toed Imperial dragons, each in pursuit of a flaming pearl amongst clouds & fire scrolls, the interior base of the bowl also having incised decoration of an Imperial dragon. The base of the bowl having incised lappet decoration, the bowl having a raised circular foot, the bowl is mark and of the period, having a six character under glaze blue Guangxu mark (1875-1908).
The bowl is in good condition.
A very similar yet smaller bowl Lot# 1066 sold at Christie’s Chinese ceramics auction South Kensington, London, 18th May 2012 for 3,750 GBP ($5,000)
