1860s French Bouillotte lamp featuring three candlesticks with brackets and a golden taupe tole shade accented by a decorative teal floral border. Bouillotte is a gambling card game that gained popularity during the early days of the French Revolution, remaining so well into the 19th-century. Traditionally made of brass and placed at the center of a large round table, the Bouillotte lamp often featured a rounded base with four candlestick brackets, features to which this piece makes marvelous exception.
