This suite is monumental in every sense of the word. The scale is huge, everything is large, ornate, beautifully crafted using the finest and most expensive materials, this is an emperor level quality pairing.
The desk is very large and exceptionally heavy, it has working keys for the doors which open to reveal over sized drawers, and by oversized, I mean absolutely massive drawers that run the full length of the desk body. The desk has twin sliding slips either side so this can accommodate four people at a time. It is decorated and finished with various pieces of gold gilt metal.
The armchair is similar in stature, it is a full-sized huge throne armchair, the leather upholstery is very fine, there are gold leaf painted and gilt metal details all over as well
The pair have been fully restored by my French polisher, this was a conservation restoration so a wash back and French polish for all the timber, the idea being to keep the original patination it has accrued over the years, the leather desk top and chair upholstery has been fully washed back and hand dyed this glorious whisky brown colour. These are very fine pieces and would have cost a small ransom to have commission new

Condition
Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description pertaining to the condition.
Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of creasing and wear, we recommend annual waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
