This very fine antique bookcase breaks down into nine sections for ease of movement, it is very easily assembled & disassembled. To the top is a stepped breakfronted cornice with dentil molding, below are four arched glass doors with incised carving and four heavily carved corbel brackets above. The top is in four sections, the cornice and three glazed bookcase sections, the interior has twelve adjustable shelves, so any size book can be stored, including large format books.
The base is deeper than the top and is in five sections, below the break front section is a four door cabinet made up of three sections, each door has a fielded panel and incised carving and corbel brackets above. To the interior of the center section are two drawers with recessed brass handles above a single shelf, each end section also fitted with a shelf, and raised on a breakfronted plinth section.
This very handsome antique Country House bookcase is in very good condition, original finish, all the glass, brass pulls, locks etc are original (keys are present).
